Mechanical axis measurement/gait and running analysis

Mechanical axis measurement/gait and running analysis

Mechanical axis definition is performed in a similar way to spine measurement.

Measurements are taken based on reference points on the pelvis and legs from the front (rotational disorders), at the side (extensor inhibitions/hyperextensibility) and from the back (varus/valgus malalignment). In this case, the pelvis is also included in the analysis as the connection between the spine and legs.

Pelvic discrepancies, tilting and torsion can thus be exactly determined statically and dynamically in order to develop a targeted therapy.

The DIERS formetric 4D camera module can be used to capture and document the mechanical axis geometry (viewed from the back) during spine and gait Analysis.

Effects on the mechanical axes can therefore be checked immediately in the case of leg and posture corrections.
